Hybrid Class 357/0 No. 357099, a temporary unit made up from vehicles of sister units 357002/357043 leaves Stanford-Le-Hope station with the 2D12 10:50 London Fenchurch Street - Southend Central via Chafford Hundered service.

An old and rusted point lever frame found lineside on the single track branch to Thameshaven, which used to control the operation of points around a local factory beside the branch. (see next photo)

An old lineside factory which used to be used to have a connection to the Thameshaven branch, look carefully to the extreme right hand corner of the photo you can just make out where the rail connection used to be.

A Level Crossing on the Thameshaven branch line.

Looking east down the Thameshaven branch towards Thameshaven sidings and Coryton Oil Refinery. Taken from the level crossing in the above photo.

Looking west towards Thameshaven Junction and the LTS&R mainline. Taken from the level crossing in the above photo.

Coryton Oil Refinery, just two trains a day keep the branch line open which serves the refinery, which are the loaded/empty bitumen to/from Llandarcy in South Wales.

EWS Class 67 Locomotive No. 67005 wearing the royal livery leads a class mate through Tilbury Town station as they haul the 6M81 15:00 Tilbury Riverside - Wembley EFOC ’enterprise’ train, consisting of 2929 series IZA cargowagons which are carrying paper bound for Mossend in Scotland.

Some photos of various 357 units around the line:

357210 leaves Stanford-Le-Hope for Southend.

257218 arrives at Tilbury Town with a London service.

357020. Tilbury Town. London bound.

357215. East Tilbury. London bound.

EWS Class 66 Locomotive No. 66219 with added graffiti from the so called ’artists’ hauls 30 TTA bitumen tanks through East Tilbury on the 6C56 17:52 Coryton Oil Refinery - Ripple Lane West Yard loaded bitumen train. The tanks then join the 6C30 20:20 Dagenham Fords - Ripple Lane West Yard loaded Fords parts train before heading for Wales as the 6V56 21:34 Ripple Lane West Yard - Newport ADJ service, before splitting away from the Ford Vans (which go to Bridgend) and head for their final destination of Llandarcy as the 6B56 03:24 Newport ADJ - Llandarcy.

These are all for now, I know the copyright over the photos may seem a little far fetched, but I've had some of my work stolen from me in the past and I'm not prepared to take any chances which could mean it occurs again. Sorry!

Thank You for these Christopher. Some cracking pic's. Glad you got some of the old line at Coryton as well. I had planned to go in search of this when I get down that way later in the year.
