ALMOST £100,000 has been invested in new automatic doors at four c2c stations over the last three months.

The aim of the investment is to help improve access into the stations for everyone, but specifically for customers with any special needs and mobility problems.

Grays, Stanford-le-Hope, West Horndon and Benfleet stations have all benefited from these new facilities which have been funded in partnership with the Department for Transport as part of their Access For All programme.

The automatic doors are fully DDA compliant and open instantly on approach which makes travelling with a wheelchair, buggy or luggage much easier.

Julian Drury, Managing Director for c2c said: "We're delighted with the latest improvements to these c2c stations.

"We're committed to making travel simpler for all our customers and the upgrade of these facilities is an excellent example of what we're trying to achieve by working in partnership with our stakeholders."

Thank you for this info Steve. I now hope many more people can get to enjoy train travel on here.
