Don't know if this has been metioned elsewhere, but if you heard the news a few weeks ago (2nd April I believe), the c2c line had a major problem with the overheads at Barking, which we where told the next morning for another trip that it was due to something being tangled in the overheads, and c2c had major problems with rush hour passengers. Passenger were stuck on train for about 3 hours before deciding to force the doors open and walk along the track without staff guidence....
Well I just wanted to say I just got caught at the tail end of this on the way back from a trip... It took twice as long to get back home than it usually does! Anyone want to know more just tell me, I don't feel like typing anything else at the moment. _________________
From what I heard about this lot, there were three seperate reasons for the chaos. The first was kids had thrown something from a bridge, bring the OHL down, then it was some and I kid you not, METAL sheeting preventing pedestrians from getting High voltage shocks as they crossed it, had come loose from the bridge and on to the OHL. The last and from what I understand to be the real reason, some sheets of polythene had got blown on to the OHL and tangled round the pan on one unit, resulting in the bringing down of the OHL.
