I saw this horrendous news item on the Basildon Echo and feel it worthy to warn others to be careful late at night, so copied and pasted it here before changing names of BTP Officers.
Teen girls’ brutal assault at station.
A schoolgirl was left with a broken nose and arm in a sling after being savagely beaten by two teenagers at a rail station. The 16-year-old girl was punched, kicked, headbutted, and dragged by the hair towards the rail tracks during the ordeal. She was then threatened with being blinded with a screwdriver and thrown down an embankment at Westcliff. At one stage during the brutal attack, one of the two yobs snarled: "You can't hit us back - we are pregnant."
British Transport Police, said: "It was vicious. It was so unrelenting. They wouldn't stop even though the people they were with were telling them to stop. It was totally unprovoked."
The victim, from Essex, was waiting for a train with friends at Westcliff station just after midnight, when a group of four girls and two boys appeared on the opposite platform. They began taunting the victims, then crossed the tracks and attacked two girls. One girl managed to break free and dashed off to find help, but her friend bore the brunt of the assault.
A BTP spokesperson said: "Two girls carried on the attack and dragged her by the hair across the platform and tried to push her on to the rail tracks. She was headbutted, punched and kicked outside the station and thrown down the embankment. One of the girls got out a screwdriver and said she was going to stab the girl in the eyes."
The girl eventually broke free and ran into a nearby pub. She had to be treated for a broken nose and torn ligaments in the arm.
One of the suspects was aged about 16, blonde, wearing a pink top underneath a dark body-warmer with a fur collar. She was spotty and wore looping gold earrings.
The other was also aged about 16, had dark hair, wearing a light-blue top, blue jeans and a black shoulder bag.
They vanished after the attack and are believed to live locally.
Anyone who recognises the pair should or knows anything about the incident, which happened at about 1.15am on September 16, should call 01702 466730 or 0207 391 5275.
