The picture below shows the view looking east towards Southend and taken from the footbridge at the South end - excuse the pun - of the station.
My apologies for 'ET' making an appearance in the distance.

Don't let on to London Underground, but I took this picture from the same bridge, but above platforms 2 + 3 as you can see and of their units standing in readiness to depart. I got the one to the right shortly afterwards and as I sat there reading a book I had purchased in Basildon, a copper walked by looking in each coach.

Pictured having just arrived on a service from Romford, is 'ONE' 315 832. I can recall going on this same line MANY years ago and hauled by a lovely steam loco.
