Sunday 29th November 1992 was to a few, a very sad day on this line and especially the LT&SR Enthusiasts at the time as this was the day of closure of the station and so services to and from there.

Pictured below is a 310 approaching the terminus on the afternoon of this sad day. I was honoured to already be there to get some more pictures that I will add on to this thread. I was also acting as a Steward to ensure nothing was stolen from the station, or what was left of it.

I was also on the very last service to leave from here and admit, I WAS choked.

Below is the tower and clock of the station booking hall where millions of boat passengers once passed through when sailing abroad, with some of them off to start a new life, perhaps in Australia.

Another view of part of the station.

Looking towards the terminus and from the bridge at the far end of the platforms.

Below is another and looking in the opposite direction and towards the junction.

Another view from outside the station area and looking towards the terminus.

This picture was taken of the platforms at the London side of the station and shows the appalling state it was allowed to get in over the last few months.

Looking from the Southend side, you can see just as much vegetation had been allowed to accumulate.

Oh what an eyesore and for no real reason other than saving a few pennies.

Why was this allowed to happen?

Or this one, come to that?

I just couldn't resist taking so many pictures of the state of this station and while I had the chance.

First picture of the booking office, on the final day.

This is the second and to the left of the first.

Where I went wrong, I never got a ticket from the Quickfare machine there and should have done.

The end of Tilbury Riverside as we knew it and with the gate across before the last train left and the station was torn down ready for redevelopment.

Now it is just a red light to there and the tracks, because they no longer lead there. Crying or Very sad

Thank you for looking at these pictures.

I was sent the link below today and you may find it of some interest.

Here is a website with three pages of interesting photos of the station and a 30th November closure date in their text.
http://www.subbrit.org.uk/sb-site...s/t/tilbury_riverside/index.shtml

It's all very interesting.
