I understand that, as well as all the relevant sidings, the plans are to double track the branch, plus add the relevant sidings (possibly electrified). What will need to be done is all the level crossings will have to (hopefully) be replaced with bridges/underpasses (as I feel that the gates will be down more than they are up).

At present there seems to be a fair few paths available for new services (although if there is someone who knows better, please correct me) on the LTS (c2c) section, but that may not be the case on the NNL.

For anybody interested in further news of the £1.5bn project, see Rail magazine issue 568 dated June 20-July 3 and page 15. it isn't a great deal, but there is some information about it.

I am moving in just over a week and have found some pictures of Shell Haven from many years ago that I will scan and put on here afterwards.

Seen the bit in rail magazine and as you say not that much info in it but one thing stands out is the spin! from DP ports about moving about 1 million containers(20ft equivalent teus) by rail

As Steve B says about the NLL are there the paths available for new services!

F/L GBRF and EWS run intermodal at around 60 20ft containers and 20 40ft containers and 20 20ft containers on there trains at the most at this rate the services they need about 24+ train loads in to and 24+ train loads out!

So would this work!!

Has the LT&S line got the room?
