Posted: Thu Sep 14, 2006 9:20 am Post subject: Hello to all.
I have already made some posts in the forum and thought I'd take some time to introduce myself.
I've been interested in the LT&S for many years. For the last 10 I have been lucky enough to work on the line. It's been a great 10 years with a lot of changes on the line (not all for the better!) From privatisation through to the introduction of DOO.
In common with a lot of modern train crew, I started my career as a Guard. Then I moved onto driving around Shoeburyness depot (and acting as a shunter) before finally passing my exams and driving on the main line.
I have been lucky enough to drive all the "modern" traction on the line Class 302 (in the depot) 310. 312, 317 and finally 357. My favorite has to be the 310, my leave favorite the 357.
Feel free to ask me any questions and I'll try to answer them. I have this idea that the admin knows more about the line than me
I was born close to Laindon station and still visit the area as much as possible. I was crossing the Tilbury line near Dagenham yesterday morning and saw a unit shifting, then down near Cranham, I crossed it and I also crossed the Upminster - Grays line twice. I had been in the area for a funeral. I moved away from Laindon 42 years ago. _________________ Once the misery line, but now passed on to another.
See www.bramleyline.org.uk where one day we just might see an Ex-LT&SR Standard 4 steaming along as a Guest loco.
My name is Lee Scott, I'm 16, I have many websites, the main one being 37427's Rail Shots.
I have been using the LT&SR (or the c2c line) for many years, originally it was for frequent visits to Southend when I stayed with my grandparents for a week or two. My memory of the 310s and 312s is faint as they were seen to me at the time (circa 1997) as rubbish trains, but now I have a stronger interest in railways than I did when I was young, I do miss them. Unfortunately I have no recollection of the 302s
My main use for the LT&SR (or c2c line) today is to visit my dad who lives in Leigh-on-sea, my grandparents who still live on Canvey, and to visit Southend.
I don't remember the 302s at Enfield Town either, but then again I've never been to the station itself (even though I go to Enfield Town frequently)
I tell you the c2c's 357s are better than ONE's new "Pink" interior Class 315s *pukes*
I live about 2 miles from Shoeburyness now. At the time I lived in Dagenham my nearest station was Chadwell Heath.
I clearly remember seeing 302's stabled at Enfield. Some of my best childhood memories are on Chadwell Heath platform watching the trains in 1984 and 1985
I must find out what set your on Tepic. I usually hit the 04:50 from Basildon. I'd adore a cab-ride of the line, but that's asking for too much from c2c, I can't even photograph on Basildon without being thrown off.

Might bump into you in the Beehive or Wetherspoons one day or even my local. "The Winged Horse" _________________ Never try collecting steam engine numbers on this line.
It only took a week in 1956
